ScrapSydney.com.au is an independent information resource built to help people understand how schools, clubs and community groups can run a safe, well-organised scrap metal drive to raise funds, from what to collect and how to stay safe to how to sell the load and handle the money.
Why We Built This
Community scrap drives are a simple idea that goes wrong when nobody has thought through storage, safety or who gets paid. We built this site to share practical, honest answers that help volunteer committees run a drive that is safe, transparent and worth the effort.
Part of the ScrapTrade Network
ScrapSydney.com.au is part of the ScrapTrade network — an online scrap trading marketplace connecting verified buyers and sellers of scrap metal, e-waste, batteries, and more. Where this site focuses on organising a drive, ScrapTrade is where the collected load is sold, with verified buyers, transparent weighing and escrow-protected payments that suit a group handling other people’s donations.
What We’re Not
We’re not a scrap buyer and we don’t handle transactions directly through this site — this is an information resource. For the actual buying and selling, head to ScrapTrade.
A well-run drive ends with a fair price and a clear record. ScrapTrade connects groups with verified buyers, transparent weighing and escrow-protected payments.
